It is that time of year to think of canning our fresh bounty from the summer months. This can be done over a couple weeks or in a weekend with a grand gathering of many helpers. Megan Battersby is a photographer that lives in Toronto, Canada with her family. In her family, they come together for an annual tomato sauce making event… especially since they are Italian.
“Every year, our family gets together to make our annual batch of sauce. This tradition was started many, many years ago, and I’m so glad we’ve all learned how to carry it on. Though every family has their own take on how to make sauce, we stick to a pretty simple recipe of just adding some basil when it is jarred.”
