Halloween in Western Canada can be very brisk and even times with the first snowfalls during Halloween week. Children usually need to bundle up with layers of clothing of winter jackets and snowsuits over costumes they proudly wear, but cannot fully share. An idea started to get the best of both worlds.
A annual tradition occurs with Halloween in the summer month of hot August at the Dickson Leisure Campground in Alberta, Canada. Hundreds of children enjoy the pleasure of getting dressed in full costumes and enjoy the warm summer evening until late into the night. A Costume Parade is performed to showcase each creative outfit and treats are given at every campsite. The most haunting campsite of the night gets gifted with a prize.
